Self-service ordering for busy lunch breaks

A tablet ordering flow for Namma Kitchen’s office cafeterias in Chennai. Employees tap their card to sign in, choose a meal and pay without a dedicated cashier. I designed it with one engineer over two months in 2022.

After launch, the kitchen team reassigned the dedicated cashier to food preparation.

Order and pay

The tablet shows only today’s menu, keeps the bag in view and ends with a pickup code.

  • Home screen greeting the employee by name, with their balance and food categories
  • Today’s menu, snacks category, with selected items highlighted
  • Bag review with quantities, order total and a Pay button
  • Order placed confirmation with a pickup code

Around the counter

I also designed the logo, membership cards and signage.
